SOCOTEC achieves accreditation to offer energy saving certificates
SOCOTEC engineering is one of the few companies in Spain that can act in the processing of Energy Saving Certificates (CAEs). A certificate of obligation for companies in the manufacturing, transport or service industries.
After a rigorous review and an effective response to a requirement in February 2024, SOCOTEC demonstrated compliance with the requirements established in Order TED/815/2023 to act as a delegated subject of CAEs. And since March 27, SOCOTEC has already been accredited in this area by the Ministry for the Ecological Transition and the Demographic Challenge.
What are CAEs?
The Energy Saving Certificate (CAE) is an electronic document that guarantees that, after carrying out energy efficiency actions, a new final energy saving equivalent to 1 kWh has been achieved. These certificates are not only applicable to industry, but also to other key sectors such as tertiary, residential and transport.
Accreditation as a delegated subject means that SOCOTEC can take on the achievement of new annual savings of energy of one or more obligated entities in these sectors and offer them to other companies that need this energy efficiency compliance, thus contributing to a comprehensive approach to energy efficiency throughout society.
