Mango, one of the largest fashion firms in Spain, has relied on the services of SOCOTEC's Health and Safety Coordination for the ambitious expansion of its logistics centre in Lliçà d'Amunt.

The coordination and management of health and safety is essential given the nature of the project and the high volume of contractors involved, especially in a facility with high levels of fire load due to textile storage.
With an investment of 35 million euros, the surface area of the complex will reach 280,000 m², equivalent to about 40 football fields. This expansion will allow Mango to increase its logistics capacity for the e-commerce channel, providing greater capacity to the dispatch area and offering support to the company's new lines of business.

SOCOTEC's Health and Safety Coordination Services
SOCOTEC has taken over the Health and Safety Coordination for the entire construction process, from the first excavations to maintenance and painting work. In compliance with the occupational risk prevention regulations (RD 1627/1997), the SOCOTEC team ensures that each phase of the project complies with the requirements of safety and health on site, guided by a rigorous methodology.
- Project Phase:D During the initial phase, SOCOTEC coordinates the construction, technical and programming decisions, supervising the drafting of the Health and Safety study together with the teams of designers.
- Execution Phase: In the execution phase, SOCOTEC reviews and approves the health and safety plan prepared by the main contractor, coordinating the on-site activities and organizing the Business Activities Coordinations (CAEs) to ensure safe interaction between teams.

With the figure of the Health and Safety Coordinator and a team dedicated to access coordination and document control, SOCOTEC guarantees that all companies and personnel involved comply with current regulations. Controls include:
- Reception of Documentation: Management and constant communication with contractors and developers.
- Documentary Verification: Specialized review of occupational risk prevention documents.
- Access Control: In a dedicated control booth, it is verified that personnel and equipment have the necessary permits and documents to enter the site, ensuring a safe environment.
Specific Safety Measures and Standards
- Delimitation of the work area by means of fences and emergency exit signs.
- Protection at Height: Installation of horizontal nets under the slab and perimeter protections.
- Load Lifting Control: Procedures for the safe lifting of materials and concrete protections in elevated areas.
- Emergency Plan in Excavations: Planning of emergency routes in case of evacuation.
