First Edition of the SOCOTEC University Chair Awards for Bachelor's and Master's Thesis: "Evolution towards Circularity"
On Tuesday, November 21 at 12:00 p.m., in the Auditorium of the University of Zaragoza, the first edition of the SOCOTEC Circular Engineering Chair Awards will be held, in an event that will bring together prominent personalities from the academic and business world.
The SOCOTEC Circular Engineering Chair, with the commitment to promote sustainability, has established this award as part of its work to promote collaboration between the University and the company.
The award aims to recognize excellence in bachelor's and master's degree final projects that address topics of mutual interest to SOCOTEC and the University of Zaragoza, such as the circular economy, sustainability and circular engineering.

What prizes will be awarded in the first edition of the SOCOTEC Circular Engineering Chair of the University of Zaragoza?
Excellence Category:
- First prize for the best Master's Thesis: A prize of €700 will be awarded
- Second prize for the second best Master's Thesis: The prize consists of €350.
Development Category:
- First prize for the best Final Degree Project: A prize of €300 will be awarded.
- Second prize for the second best Final Degree Project: The prize consists of €150.
Excellence Category:
- First prize for the best Master's Thesis: A prize of €700 will be awarded
- Second prize for the second best Master's Thesis: The prize consists of €350.
Development Category:
- First prize for the best Final Degree Project: A prize of €300 will be awarded.
- Second prize for the second best Final Degree Project: The prize consists of €150.
The opening day will be attended by prominent representatives of the University of Zaragoza, the Government of Aragon and the Zaragoza City Council, who will kick off the event. In addition, various lectures on sustainability and creativity will be presented, in order to inspire students on their path to circularity. Guillem Baraut, CEO of SOCOTEC, will close the first part of the event with a presentation on Green Trust SOCOTEC, highlighting the company's commitment to sustainability.
The day will culminate with the awards ceremony, where the effort and dedication of the students in the promotion of the circular economy and engineering will be recognized. This event represents an important step in the promotion of sustainability and collaboration between academia and the business world, thus marking a significant milestone on the road to circularity in the region.
